What NOT to Do During Quarantine
A guest post from Wahls Health Practitioner, Alene Brennan:
The uncertainty in the world right now may have you feeling scared and anxious.
We know that we need to wash our hands for at least 20 seconds, and we need to stay home to maintain social distancing.
Outside of that, many questions remain unanswered.
One question that should not go unanswered though, is whether or not this is really the time to start or continue on the Wahls Protocol®.
With limited runs to the grocery store and limited food on the shelves, it’s so easy to slip back into old eating habits.
You can always return to the Protocol, “when things settle back to normal,” right?
The unfortunate truth is that it will be a long time before we experience our old sense of “normalcy.”
And if you’re living with Multiple Sclerosis, like me, the Wahls Protocol® is a therapeutic diet that we use to keep our disease from progressing and symptoms returning.
We need the Protocol now more than ever – not only to maintain our wellness but also to give our immune cells a fighting chance.
We don’t have the luxury of a cheat day.
And as Dr. Wahls has said in her revised and updated book, one “cheat” can potentially have irreversible damage.
That’s the message I want to share with you as a Wahls Certified Health Practitioner.
But as a fellow Wahls Warrior™, I want to say, I get it, it can be hard on a good day to follow the Protocol. So, at a time when our world feels like its spinning out of control, we likely need extra support to stay focused on our healing.
No better place to get that support than from our fellow Wahls Warriors™.
That’s why I’ve decided to host an online book club for Wahls Warriors™ around the world to explore Dr. Wahls’ revised and expanded book.
It’s an opportunity for us to remind ourselves of the inspirational journey Dr. Wahls has taken and the path that she laid out for us to do the same.
As she says, “You are now in charge of your own health. Your future, your progress – even your happiness – is up to you.”
This book club is to support us in doing just that.
It is completely free, and I would love for you to join.
It starts Wednesday, April 1 so click here to join the book club and receive all the details.
And above all, remember that you are never alone in following the Wahls Protocol®.
You are part of a worldwide community of warriors following the diet and lifestyle habits right along with you.
No social distancing can break the bond that we have in our Wahls community.
