Essential reading for everyone, July 19, 2013
This review is from: Minding My Mitochondria 2nd Edition: How I overcame secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (MS) and got out of my wheelchair. (Paperback)

Easily read, easily understood. You will learn the essential facts of how your body functions at its best – the chemistry & science behind that knowledge – and then can use that information to tweak your own diet so that you function & feel better. For example, I learned that I need to add more greens, and it’s an easy tweak to now always throw spinach into my morning shake (yes it looks weird, but the taste is the same, I promise!). Even if you aren’t ill, and even if you aren’t an endurance athlete, the ability to live in health, with your brain firing on all cylinders, is good information.

This is when the body releases ketones, which happens when the liver works to turn fats into fatty acids that can be used to provide energy to the body.
