The evidence guides the reader to make every food choice count towards building an intensely nutrient-dense diet, enabling the body to restore wellness. This is about as far from a food-deprivation diet as one can get, but excess weight will drop away. In fact it can be a challenge to fit in all the required food each day.
Adopters of this diet will feel satiated, and not deprived at all because you are giving your body all the nutrients it requires to function properly.
