Dr. Eva-Maria Hasenbeck is the first doctor of medicine in Germany who is an Institute for Functional Medicine-certified practitioner. She is an eye doctor who is a fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the author of The End of Uveitis and Macular Edema: How To Address Rheumatoid Arthritis, Eye-Related Symptoms And Beyond With Functional Medicine.
Dr. Hasenbeck helps patients with all sorts of autoimmune diseases but her area of expertise lies in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. She uses Functional Medicine tests on a deeper level to understand why symptoms are happening. These tests are used to create a personalized treatment plan addressing the root cause of the illness. She works one-on-one with her patients, leveraging their lab results to achieve the best outcome for every single patient.
She opened her own private practice for Functional Medicine in Northeim, the town where she lives with her husband Marc, their son Justus and the wirehaired “cashmere“ dachshund, Emma.
